INTRODUCTION

The module unit is intended to equip the trainee with knowledge, skills and attitudes that will enable him or her to use celestial bodies in determining position lines and checking compass errors

 GENERAL OBJECTIVES

By the end of the module unit, the trainee should be able to

a)      use the sextant to determine the angles of celestial bodies

b)      determine position lines of celestial bodies

c)      determine compass error by means of celestial bodies

fix observed position on a plotting sheet
